Since 2011, Forbes has published its 30 Under 30 list annually within the Forbes magazine, the list recognises 30 notable people in various industries who are under the age of 30 years old. When the prestigious Forbes 30 Under 30 panel came to the Courtyard by Marriott London Heathrow, Conference Craft was commissioned to provide expert technical support. This high-profile event brought together influential young entrepreneurs to share their insights, requiring a flawless technical event management strategy to satisfy both the live audience and the media recording crew.

THE BRIEF & OBJECTIVES

The primary objective was to deliver a seamless audio-visual experience that supported the gravitas of the event without distracting from the speakers.

Media Quality Audio: A critical requirement was to provide crystal-clear audio feeds not just for the room, but specifically for the Forbes media crew recording the session.

Brand Emphasis: The visual elements needed to subtly highlight the Forbes and Courtyard logos, setting the appropriate professional tone.

Reliability: Given the high-profile nature of the speakers, the conference equipment had to be fail-safe and unobtrusive.

THE CHALLENGE: BALANCING LIVE & BROADCAST NEEDS

The main challenge lay in coordinating the technical setup to serve two distinct audiences simultaneously: the attendees in the room and the global viewers of the recorded content. We needed to ensure that the lighting looked natural on camera while maintaining an atmospheric mood in the venue, and that audio levels were perfect for both the PA system and the recording feeds.

AUDIO VISUAL & LIGHTING SPECIFICATIONS

Precision Audio Routing: We utilised high-end Yamaha Mixers to route audio effectively. This allowed us to send independent mixes to the live PA system and the recording cameras, ensuring optimal levels for both outputs.

Wireless Clarity: To ensure the panellists had total freedom of movement and perfect voice clarity, we supplied Shure Wireless lapel microphones. This ensured that every word of their “experiences, challenges and successes” was captured without interference.

Subtle Lighting Design: Our lighting solution focused on delicacy. We created a subtle backdrop that gently illuminated the speakers and placed a soft emphasis on the corporate branding, ensuring the stage looked professional both in-person and on video.
